Care & Maintenance
- Use non-wax wood flooring cleaner to keep your floor in good condition. Use of conventional, domestic cleaners may permanently damage your floor’s finish.
- Avoid large amounts of water. Should a spill occur, remove it quickly with a dry cloth or mop.
- Make use of doormats at entrances to prevent dust and sand from entering. Clean your doormats regularly.
- Move area rugs periodically to ensure that UV rays don’t unevenly fade or change the color of your flooring.
- Place felt protectors on the legs of all your furniture. Also, do not walk on the floor with stiletto-heeled shoes.
- Keep your pet’s nails clipped to reduce scratching of your flooring.
- Buff and recoat your pre-finished flooring every few years to protect it from additional wear and to keep it looking fresh.
- Keep indoor temperature and humidity reasonably consistent. The temperature should be between 60 and 70 degrees and the humidity between 40% – 60%.
- Avoid long periods of direct sunlight to your floors by drawing shades or curtains over doors and windows when available.
- When moving heavy furniture or appliances such as the fridge or piano, etc., place a thick rug underneath the furniture legs before moving.
- Use a commercial floor mat underneath office chairs that have wheels.
